Vida de Arcadio
Espada, Arcadi
Vida de Arcadio is an intimate report, written in the second person, whose themes coincide with the youth of the author and the youth of Spanish democracy. The struggle to become a man, detailed without shame or contemplation, intersects with the lies of his time and with the first and foremost: that youth is the storehouse of lost dreams. Although this inquiry into the intimate that the author undertakes with the will to truth that he uses in his job to narrate the lives of others is also a joyful and sensitive celebration of many opening moments of the experience. Written from the conviction that the past can only be seen through the eyes of the present, the book settles accounts with some contemporary crises, strangely linked to those of four decades ago; as if time were that illusion documented by physicists and poets.
