Vengo de ese miedo
Oeste, Miguel Ángel
Unable to visit his father, the narrator of this story decides to write about his family without having that testimony. The fear of being with him paralyzes him. And so, like an infection that invades everything, the narrative of this hell emerges. Her mother, a beauty in her early twenties, was seduced by her father, a man endowed with great charm among friends and very generous with those around him at work, but a self-centered abuser at home. In this falsely domestic portrait, the beginnings of tourism in Malaga in the seventies are outlined, when European money from vacationers and investors brought an unusual opening in the form of fun and revelry, fresh air for a society that even in dreams I would have imagined nights of endless orgies. Miguel Ángel Oeste descends into the abyss of his memories and, in a painful investigation, confronts his memory with that of relatives and acquaintances to produce a harrowing testimony, which at the same time is a chronicle of the last forty years of this country. A journey in which fear is the protagonist, first as a disease and then as a writing engine.
