René, an elderly transgender man who played the piano in cabarets, spends the last moments of his life bedridden under the strict surveillance of Olga, a nurse with whom he recalls days of militancy, and old loves and friends. Now, at ninety-three years old, he looks back to evoke so much shared and hard-won life: the Stonewall riots, police repression, decades of activism for the rights of the LGTBIQ+ community, the ravages of the outbreak of AIDS, that he took so many friends with him, the care among people who share marginalization... Where has so much effort gone, if intolerant voices continue to be heard that threaten to collapse everything? René knows that his struggle and that of his friends has not stopped: what began in the sixties continues in the Trump era.
