Tot torna
reescriure els clàssics en temps de dubtes
McBride, Emily
What makes the classics endure over time? Perhaps the possibility that what they explain touches on something universal that, years later, continues to challenge us. The re-readings, in different periods, bring us new approaches to the texts. When these rereadings become rewritings, they propose an asynchronous and updated dialogue with the works: they question and put their finger on the sore of those aspects that, due to dominant mentality, oppression, carelessness or custom, have remained on the sidelines. The rewritings are also an exercise in imagination and restitution that confronts us with what is established, and in addition they force us to look at history from another perspective that allows us to deploy new ways of interpretation that hope, even everything, the possibility of some justice.
