Tiempos de confusión

Tiempos de confusión

de la clase adscriptiva a la identidad electiva

Burgaya, Josep

Progressivism has succumbed to the "diversity trap." Since the sixties, when economic development allowed prioritizing issues that transcended the material (gender, sexual orientation, new ways of life, pacifism, spirituality...) a "postmaterialist" culture has been taking shape, a territory where a battle is being waged in defense of "particular" identities. Society has thus become an aggregate of subjectivities that ask to be recognized in their singularity while the left, which claimed to be emancipatory, has left aside fundamental issues, particularly those that have their starting point in economic policies that generate income polarity. and further impoverishment. Confusion, in short, has taken over the left, which should prioritize the material and its social structure -classes-, establishing liberating objectives from all kinds of economic, social and cultural subjugation.
