La extraña soy yo

Franck, Julia

Everything starts from a memory: a sunny morning in May 1992, in a small apartment in Berlin where books reign, the applications for social benefits, the black and white photos that he begins to take and his first computer. Julia, a college student, receives a call from Stephan, the guy she's dating, urging her to see each other. From there, Julia travels back and forth in time, to narrate not only her life but that of the generations that preceded her, particularly that of the matriarchs of her family. Like her mother's, an actress with an unstable character who took her daughters (including Julia and her twin sister) from East to West Berlin, first to the Marienfelde emergency shelter and then to Schleswig-Holstein; but at the age of thirteen she Julia she left the chaotic farm where they lived and moved alone to Berlin. Thanks to social assistance and the houses that she cleans, she can go to high school. Meanwhile, she meets her father and immediately loses it; By then, Julia already knows that she has grown up in a strange family, and that she herself is as strange as the worlds around her. Among others, Stephan's world, her great love. That Stephan that she urgently calls now.
