La escuela no es un parque de atracciones

una defensa del conocimiento poderoso

Luri Medrano, Gregorio

If the school is in crisis, it is not because it is an outdated institution, but because it has forgotten its noble function: that of reducing, in the shortest possible time and with the greatest number of students, the distance between ignorance and knowledge. Pedagogy lives in strange and sometimes really absurd times. If an idiot is someone who is not capable of being critical of his own ignorance, those who boast of promoting critical thinking while applying methodologies that have not been shown to be effective deserve this qualification. What other adjective deserves the contempt for knowledge in schools and the emphasis on fun and happiness? In times of Google, it is insisted that there is no longer powerful knowledge, but powerful search engines and fluid skills. The weak are left helpless and the school tries to hide its imperfections by insisting on being entertaining. Now, those children who will not find anywhere what school does not teach them today, don't they deserve something more than a fun school?
