La dama de Panamá
Clarós Blanch, Pedro
In 1977, when he is working in London in a prestigious hospital, the young Pedro must urgently return to Barcelona summoned by his father, Andrés: his grandmother Mercedes is dying and, before dying, she wants to say goodbye to him. On her deathbed, the old woman, by way of farewell, whispers in his ear some words that will leave him deeply intrigued and that allude to some events that occurred during the Civil War in the family home in Badalona... Thus begins a long night a wake in which Andrés explains to Pedro the fascinating story of his mother, from her passionate and unusual love story with her husband to her unusual stay in Panama, from where she would later return with her family to Barcelona to, finally, live an extraordinary story of solidarity and courage in the first days of the Civil War that shows that courage, empathy and great gestures do not need great names framed in the history books, but only great people with the will to to help.
