The anarchist Alexandre Marius Jacob had an unusual life. Together with a group called by the press as "the workers of the night", he turned the France of the Belle Époque upside down with numerous expropriations of the richest families in the country, after which they left scathing notes explaining that they did not do it to fill their pockets, but to distribute it among those who needed it most and to try to overthrow that false society. Before all this, while still a child, he traveled the world working as a sailor on various ships. From this experience he drew a personal worldview and strong anarchist convictions. He hating, ever since, injustice and hypocrisy. His political commitment will lead him to jail and not being able to continue working, having to inevitably resort to robbery as a way of life and political action. After a forceful trial, where he insults the judges and the jury, that he will be threatened with death by his accomplices, he is sentenced to finish with his bones in the prison of the island of Cayenne. But, against all odds and thanks to his struggle and that of his companions, he would be able to find his way back. Sincere and upright, intelligent and generous, passionate and sensitive, Alexandre Jacob is a figure that fascinates and seduces, before and now, becoming the inspiration for the fictional character Arsène Lupin and serving as an example for the Navarrese anarchist Lucio Urtubia. This is the epic story of an endearing and unique man, a reflection of a bygone era, but whose echoes continue to resonate in today's world.
