I adapt the language to the African narrative rhythm [...]. This book is addressed to Africans. I thought in Malinka and wrote in French, taking a freedom that I consider natural from the classical language [...]. what did i do I simply freed my character, fashioning a classical language that was too rigid for me to express my thought. So I translated Malinke into French, breaking the French language to rediscover and rebuild the African rhythm. I tried to create a malign style. I thought about Malinke, and I tried to present how a Malinke perceived a certain event, how it appeared in his mind. I thought in Malinka, and the point was to retransmit that intellectual reasoning made in Malinka
