Hijo de un bastardo

Chalandon, Sorj

While covering as a journalist the trial of Klaus Barbie in Lyon, a Nazi criminal captured decades later in Bolivia, the narrator will also discover the truth about the role of his psychotic father during World War II. The only reference to his mother's past was what his grandfather told him, that the narrator was "the son of a traitor, a bastard, a bastard". As he delves deeper into his investigation, he discovers that his father ended up wearing four different uniforms, from the Resistance to the Nazi, and that this incredible story only confirms the madness of a man who has always been a mythomaniac and a manipulator. When Klaus Barbie enters the room, the protagonist is sitting in the rows of the press and his father is in the middle of the audience. This is not one trial that has just begun, but two. Barbie will have to answer for his crimes. His father, because of his lies.
