Heat 2

One day after the end of Heat, Chris Shiherlis (Val Kilmer) finds himself holed up in Koreatown; he is injured, half unconscious and desperately trying to escape from Los Angeles. He is pursued by Los Angeles Police Department detective Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino). Hours earlier, Hanna had killed Shiherlis' partner, Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro), in a shootout under strobe lights at the foot of a Los Angeles airport runway. Now Hanna is determined to capture or kill Shiherlis, the last survivor of McCauley's men, before he disappears from town. In 1988, seven years earlier, McCauley, Shiherlis and the rest of the gang hit the West Coast, the Mexican border and finally Chicago; they make money wildly and live on the edge. Chicago homicide detective Vincent Hanna, a man unreconciled to his past, fulfills his calling: the pursuit of an ultra-violent gang of home invasions. Meanwhile, the fallout from McCauley's beatings and Hanna's chase will cause unexpected repercussions in a parallel plot throughout the post-Heat years.
