The two stories that we publish, the mythical The eleven thousand cocks and The exploits of a young don Juan, dating from 1907 and 1911, are two hymns to virility and pleasure; amazing catalogs of all sexual practices, deviations and orientations that offer, in a burlesque way, "raw" sex wrapped in the poet's obsessions and fantasies. In doing so, they allow us to question and criticize the values and violence of the system to which they belong: that of male domination. In this sense, they constitute exceptional and unique documents from his time. In The Exploits of a Young Don Juan, Roger goes on vacation to his castle in the country, where he will fornicate with all the women of his family and almost all of the servants. It is an entire inventory of depravities that rather seems written to ironize pornographic literature and the vices of French society. Las eleven mil vergas tells the story of Mony Vibescu, a Romanian prince who goes to Paris in search of adventure. There he will meet the prostitute Culculine d'Ancone. After his return to Bucharest, he is invited to participate in the Russo-Japanese war as a Russian lieutenant and will accept motivated by the "perversions" that a war is capable of providing and covering up. Guillaume Apollinaire, who was one of the first to make an inventory of the works in "the little hell" of the National Library, has become, in his own right, one of the greatest exponents of erotic-pornographic literature of all time.
