En el cuerpo del mundo
poesía completa
Sánchez Robayna, Andrés
From the great classical Western poems to any African folk song, the 'I' of the singer disappears, and its place is taken by an impersonal consciousness. For me, the poet must always break the traps of privacy, the obturation of subjectivism, to access an open area of encounter with the world. From an inquiry into his own consciousness, the poet has to agree to depersonalization, because otherwise his experience will be subject to a kind of labyrinth with no way out. In other words: the dissolution of the self gives rise to a free appearance of consciousness. Perhaps what the poet pursues is what we could call, paradoxically, the intimacy of large spaces, the entrance to an 'outside', the penetration of light.
