Ella imagina
Millás, Juan José
All the texts in this volume, including the monologue that gives it its title, "Ella imagina", are run by a common thread called Vicente Holgado. He is a somewhat obsessive subject who appeared to me in a closet tale entitled "Trastornos del carácter", many years ago, and since then he sneaks into almost everything I write. He is a neutral type and possessor of an unstable nature, since sometimes he is married and other times a widower, although it is normal for him to remain single. He eats yoghurts and nuts and hates DIY, even though he loves mechanics. Sometimes, when he is reproached for his laziness in traveling, he affirms that hepatic colic is more beautiful than an African sunset. He detests pets, although in some tales he has a cat and in others, I believe, he appears with a dog. He is an inconcrete type, afflicted, as a politician would say, of an identity deficit; a guy, in short, who tries to synchronize his movements with those of reality without success. He lives by a miracle, like everyone else, but he sometimes dies, although he immediately resurrects. The truth is that the seasons in which he is alive coincide with times of serious disagreements that I endure taking notes on his character.
