María, a young doctor, arrives in a town in Castilla to take charge of her first assignment. She has chosen that town because of a movie, The Lord of War, that she watched with her father when she was a teenager and that she has not been able to forget ever since. In it, a Norman knight becomes feudal lord of strange lands inhabited by semi-savage men, and falls madly in love with a mysterious maiden for whom he ends up losing power and honor. From the very moment of her arrival in that town, María will attend, amazed, how the things that begin to happen to her have a mysterious relationship with what the protagonists of that film lived.
