El manuscrito de niebla

El manuscrito de niebla

García Jambrina, Luis

At the beginning of the 16th century, a typographer is found violently dead in a print shop in Salamanca. The place is completely destroyed and the original of a new book by the famous humanist Antonio de Nebrija has disappeared. The professor commissions his former student, investigator Fernando de Rojas, to find out who killed the typesetter and find the stolen manuscript. The task is not going to be easy, since Nebrija has many enemies within the Salamanca Study due to his numerous confrontations with other professors, due to his open war against the barbarism that devastates the University and because he considers that grammar must be above other disciplines and knowledge, since it is the basis and the instrument that all of them use. This makes Rojas have to face the enemies of the printing press and new ideas, symbolized by that perpetual fog that covers the city of Salamanca in autumn and winter and prevents seeing the light.
