A year has passed since we left Jalna's troubled mansion. Now we find the family gathered around the table again, in front of an appetizing cheese soufflé and a bottle of aged rum. Only Grandma Adeline is missing, who lately spends most of her time in her bed, in the same bed that she witnessed conceptions, births and goodbyes and who now seems to be waiting for a new farewell from her. One concern prevails over the others: who will the inheritance go to? In order to have them all in one fist, the always cunning grandmother has declared that her estate will go to one person. Will it end up, perhaps, in the hands of Renny, for which all women, including her grandmother, lose their minds? Or will Nicholas be the lucky one, the eldest of the sons? Or adorable little Wakefield? Meanwhile, young Finch secretly cultivates his passion for the arts; Renny can't get over the fascinating Alayne, who has returned to New York; Eden has disappeared without a trace; Phesant has had a son with Piers and has named him Maurice, after his father... And so, between jealousy, passions and suspicions, the game of life continues for everyone in Jalna.
