El eslabón luminoso
pervivencia de la realidad milenaria de la España musulmana
Bolinaga, Íñigo
The luminous link is a history of Spain. From a Spain that was not Catholic, not even Christian, and that for centuries represented one of the political-cultural summits of Islam. Of a strikingly uncomfortable Spain for some and extremely praised by many others, in a vain attempt to claim current values ??to medieval Islamic societies. It is a history that covers almost eight hundred years, and even a thousand if we add the Moorish Muslim presence. It is not an error, it is not a parenthesis, it is not merely an exotic cultural manifestation. The inhabitants of Spain should not ignore a thousand-year-old political reality -literally- that developed in the lands of Spain and whose protagonists, the Andalusians, are -also literally- their direct ancestors. This work shows the political evolution of the different kingdoms and cultures that made Al-Andalus. Like that of León, Castilla, Navarra or Aragón, in Muslim Spain there were different perfectly individualized political entities that fought among themselves, allying themselves with either Christians or Saracens. Kingdoms placed on the great peninsular chess board, with its insular and African annexes, which evolve interacting without distinction other than faith, which speaking of a medieval context is a lot, but not enough to assume that there were two opposing political blocs on the basis of religious identities. The ancient reality of Muslim Spain cannot be ignored. It's too much time; much more than the Habsburg empire and something more than Roman Hispania. Al-Andalus configured Spain, and it did not do so only by giving it dances, culinary recipes or terminology, but as the seed of the way in which Spain understands itself.
