El club de las viudas
Galván, Guillermo (1950- )
May 1943. Despite his ideological scruples, adverse work circumstances encouraged Carlos Lombardi to apply to join the new General Police Corps. The recent pardon and weighty guarantors facilitate his reincorporation into the Criminal Investigation Brigade, albeit in rather uncomfortable and limited conditions. Suspecting that he will not last long within the walls of the gloomy DGS, his first job is to investigate the disappearance of four Francoist soldiers in the battle of Belchite, almost six years ago. What initially points to a resounding failure due to the very probable death of the four men is taking shape through the investigation of his widows. At the same time, Lombardi's relations in Puerta del Sol were complicated by the interest he aroused among members of the political police, the Social Investigation Brigade. As usual, Carlos Lombardi must walk on hot coals without burning his feet. With the help, naturally, of the former assault guard Andrés Torralba, the office assistant Alicia Quirós and the inexperienced journalist Ignacio Mora.
