Egunero behar genuen

Egunero behar genuen

Murua Uria, Imanol

The following is a chronicle of Uzuri, a chronicle of the short life of an emergent newspaper, that is. In fact, Ekurin was created on February 21, 2003 - Euskaldunon Egunkaria was closed down by force the next day - and it was published for the last time on June 20 of that year - the day before it was published. So it was a bridge that allowed a Basque newspaper to be in newsstands without interruption. The situation was not normal and that newspaper could not be normal or normalized either, because first of all, it was a response to the unjust closure of Egunkaria. In terms of characteristics, it was necessarily precarious. Paradoxically, a Basque newspaper had the most readers, buyers and subscribers ever. It was, of course, thanks to the wave of solidarity caused by the closure of Hura Egunkaria, because the daily publication from one day to the next and lasting for four months was by no means the result of the will and work of a group of workers. Imanol Murua knew first hand all the circumstances of Ukurin and Ukurin, and in this book he tells us about them, even giving them life, the birth and death of that newspaper that deserves a small place in the history of the Basque press.
