We take it for granted that human beings are selfish and prone to evil. Therefore, resigned, we affirm that evil is inevitable. Everything we read about him only reinforces our starting point. And we give up: we have no remedy, the evil of today will repeat itself tomorrow. We even become numb to the horror. But what if evil could be thought of otherwise? By resorting to selfishness, are we being blind to other possibilities to understand it?
