Come mierda
no comas mejor, deja de comer peor
Basulto, Julio
While contaminated food kills around 5,000 people a year in the entire European region, edible junk causes 2.1 million deaths annually, due to cardiovascular diseases alone. Can you imagine how many kilos of ultra-processed foods we consume per year? Faced with a tragedy of such magnitude, Julio Basulto justifies that if the word "shit" is defined as "something poorly done or of poor quality" (according to the Royal Spanish Academy of Language), foodstuffs of poor nutritional quality must also be included in said concept. Eat Shit addresses, therefore, the great food issue of our days. It explains the difference between safe and harmless food, empowers us, disarms the tentacles with which Big Food promotes food environments that generate obesity and chronic diseases, and shows that taking care of ourselves does not only mean eating better but, above all, stopping eating worse.
