Antología de las poetas estadounidenses
de Emily Dickinson a Sylvia Plath (1830-2012)
VV.AA.
Although no one disputes the preeminence among American (and universal) poetry of authors such as Emily Dickinson, Marianne Moore or Elizabeth Bishop, the truth is that the canon of American poetry is usually plagued, sometimes routinely, by poets men. This anthology aims to stop this inertia and give the reader the opportunity to browse and delve into poetic visions often relegated from anthologies because of the genre. Poets who, on occasions, have not had much luck in their translations into Spanish. The reduced temporal dimensions of poetry in the United States (since it barely spans two centuries) make it possible to present in a single book the most relevant voices of its tradition in an arc that goes from Emily Dickinson (born in 1830) to the youngest of the chosen poets: Sylvia Plath (born 1932). H. D., May Swenson, Barbara Guest, Anne Sexton and Adrianne Rich are some of the poets that readers will find in the pages of this book, leading enough selections to delve into their complex, subtle and delicate poetic universes.
