Abandono de la discusión

Nagarjuna

According to an ancient custom, the princes and sovereigns of India periodically brought together thinkers, ascetics and religious of different schools to discuss some controversial issue. The identity or difference between the body and the soul, life after death, the meaning of existence, the rules of behavior and certain moral issues were some of the topics of debate. The living conditions of the schools in dispute depended on its result, with which persuasive ability or the art of proving would acquire great social and political importance. Nâgârjuna's treatise (ca. II-III centuries) Abandoning Discussion (Vigraha-vyâvartanî) exposes the position of the Madhyamika before the philosophical discussion in the light of the doctrine of emptiness, being one of the best examples of the dialectic of Nâgârjuna and his philosophical position regarding the role that language and logical reasoning should play in the search for awakening.
