Manuel is a boy who spends a lot of time alone at home, as his father works too many hours delivering packages and his grandmother, who is sick, had to be taken to a nursing home. On Shrove Tuesday, he misses the ears that his grandmother prepared for him and decides to make a few himself. Since he wants to follow his grandmother's exact recipe, he uses his bottle full of lentils to stretch them, which ends up peeling and splattering the floor with vegetables. Before letting him eat his ears, the grandmother always told him the stories those ears had heard. Now that she is gone, Manuel will be in charge of imagining the stories heard by the sweets he himself prepared: surprising stories all starring lentils. Through these stories, which unite three generations of the same family, the boy protagonist learns to accept the absence of his grandmother, to understand his social and family reality, and to feel a little closer to his father.
