Política sin anestesia
García, Mónica (1974- )
Doctor, mother, woman. Three words that were not only an electoral campaign slogan, but also defined the person who embodied the candidacy of Más Madrid for the presidency of the Community of Madrid. Mónica García, an anesthesiologist at the 12 de Octubre public hospital, was swept away by the tides that followed 15M and entered politics, like so many ordinary citizens in that historical cycle. In this book, Mónica García recounts in the first person the long road that took her from the operating room to the Madrid Assembly; from family gatherings in which politics were debated to the historic result in the elections that made her the leader of the opposition, through large demonstrations in defense of Public Health, athletics championships or her experience of motherhood. She and she does it without anesthesia, without masking emotions as painful as those that she still provokes in her memory of the corridors of collapsed hospitals, in which despair emerged during the worst moments of the pandemic.
