Nirvana In utero
el sonido que Kurt Cobain oía en su cabeza
Crespo, Tomás
Readers of "Nirvana. Nevermind. The Last Revolution" will remember that we had left the trio formed by Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl starting the year 1992 in the most surprising way possible: with their new album displacing it from number 1 on the list Billboard to "Dangerous" by Michael Jackson. A band completely unknown outside of Seattle until a short time before, was beginning to become the mainstream that they previously detested. Or was it rather the mainstream that had moved towards them? The big question was: what to do now? What steps should an underground band take that after signing with a multinational had achieved worldwide success with what was only their second album? The first thing was to go on a world tour: in 1992 the group performed in Oceania, Asia, Europe and America. Then, at the end of the year, they released the album "Incesticide", which mainly included songs already published before on singles, EPs or other compilations. But that wasn't enough to quench Nirvana's thirst for new songs. Aware of this, and after some demos and jams recorded in Brazil, the group returned to the United States with some new songs already finished, and others still to be finished, but with the idea of locking themselves in to finally record the album that was going to be succeed "Nevermind". Nirvana's new LP. The one that, after many comings and goings, would end up being called "In Utero".
