El hombre corzo
siete años viviendo en el bosque
Delorme, Geoffroy
From a very young age, Geoffroy Delorme had difficulty relating to his peers. His parents decided to take him out of school and the little boy continued his studies at home. But not far from it was a forest that kept calling to him. At nineteen, he couldn't resist the temptation any longer and set out to live with the bare minimum deep in the Louviers forest in Normandy. A long and arduous apprenticeship began for him. One day, he discovered a curious and playful roe deer. The young man and the animal learned to know each other. Delorme gave him a name, Daguet, and the roe deer opened the doors of the forest and the fascinating world of him, along with his animal companions. Delorme settled among the cervids in an immersive experience that would last seven years. Living alone in the forest without a tent, shelter, or even a sleeping bag or blanket, meant learning how to survive. Following the example of the roe deer, Delorme adopted his behavior, learned to eat, sleep and protect himself like them, taking advantage of what the humus, leaves, brambles and trees provided. And so, he was acquiring a unique knowledge of these animals and their way of life, observing them, photographing them and communicating with them. He learned to share his joys, his sorrows and his fears.
