Xavier Folch (1938-2021) was one of the great publishers of democratic Catalonia. A key figure in the literary system and left-wing Catalanism for more than half a century, his silences counterbalanced a long history of committed anti-Francoism, and his desire to connect ideas, books and people helped build one of the networks of the country's most solid and brilliant intellectuals and politicians. This volume is the result of long conversations that the writers Jordi Amat, Josep M. Fonalleras and Jaume Subirana had with Folch, and discovers the axes and fidelities of his biography. The book is complemented, as a fragmentary tribute to the teacher, the mentor and the friend, with a commented photo album and a brief anthology of texts written by Folch himself or which collect the words and illustrate very well the his two great passions: literature and politics.
