Vox, el retorno de los ultras que nunca se fueron
Rius Sant, Xavier
This book is a journey through the recent history of the extreme right in Spain, which begins with the Falangist past of Javier Ortega Smith at the end of the eighties, to reach a party that is already present in our institutions and where everything is decided. a small group with Santiago Abascal in front. In line with this story, there is talk of groups such as Fuerza Nueva, Juntas Españolas or Plataforma per Catalunya, where some of the now Vox deputies were. Because the extreme right never disappeared: a part was "asleep" within the PP and, with the emergence of Vox, it decided to come out of the closet. Now she is immersed in reaching a balance between the nostalgia of the Franco regime, a uniform Spain without autonomies, xenophobia and Catholic fundamentalism. The movements of Abascal, Ortega Smith and Vidal-Quadras that will lead to the creation of Vox, their journey through the desert after failing in 2014, their irruption in 2018, the appointment of Jorge Buxadé, who abhors the party system, as Vice President and its evolution up to the present day, with the abandonment of the party by Macarena Olona, who, like so many other militants, has felt neglected. At the same time, the evolution of other ultra groups in Spain that, after the irruption of Vox, lose their space and become radicalized, is reported and analyzed.
