Virtudes mínimas para alcanzar la felicidad
Goñi Zubieta, Carlos
Many thinkers, since the dawn of humanity, have considered that the key to the moral life lies in the practice of virtue. Nowadays, we have forgotten about this tendency and it even seems that we are embarrassed to pronounce the word virtue, as if virtuous were synonymous with prudish, submissive, pusillanimous, saintly or timorous. However, it is just the opposite: the virtuous person faces life with greatness because he transforms daily habits and practices into virtues that tan him, strengthen him, make him great. Carlos Goñi proposes transforming fifty small habits -gratitude, humor, study, audacity, silence, optimism, etc.- into enriching and virtuous daily customs. Minimal virtues -as he calls them- that he brings together and glosses to bring them closer to our present time, leaving behind the classic patterns of moral philosophy, but also the disorientation and immobility to which a "liquid" society often leads us. In this book he tries to understand these minimum virtues, to show why we need them and how we can use them to build a fairer, freer, happier world.
