Vientos de conquista

Pitronello, Alan

Year 1538. Eager to win the favor of His Majesty, a family of merchants from Seville, the Cardeñas, bet their wealth on one of the king's most ambitious campaigns, the expedition of Pedro de Alvarado to the Spice Islands. The young Fernando de Cardeña will embark to the Indies with the intention of safeguarding the interests of his family and supplying the fleet of the advanced in the captaincy of Guatemala. Alvarado maintains an open war with the natives of the region and with his enemies in the council, willing to put an end to his power. His ambition and a revolt in New Spain will turn the plans of his powerful army, while the shadow of the viceroy hangs over his authority. Fernando will be forced to follow in the footsteps of the old conqueror and fight against adversity, all to prevent his family from going bankrupt. A long journey through the Antilles, Guatemala and Mexico that will lead him to discover a secret from his past and witness the destructive power and wrath of the gods in a world ruled by the greed of men. A story that crosses the oceans, towards a melting pot of cultures, where the Hispanic merges with the indigenous and the winds carry the last call to the conquerors to achieve glory, through fire and blood.
