Vidas lentas

LI Premio Internacional de Novela Ciudad de Barbastro, 2020

Ximenos, Anna R.

For years I have crossed back and forth existences that include, in addition to a subjectivity marked by diagnostic labels (psychotic, affective, personality disorders ...), an ongoing criticism of the very notion of border. That border so porous and unstable that tries to distinguish the normal from the abnormal and the healthy from the unhealthy. Performing professionally in this labile territory has forced me to ask myself many questions whose answers, if any, have been chopped up and distributed among institutions, professions, services, books and people who have something to say about it. However, the material in this novel is totally fictional and its resemblance to reality, to use the canonical formula, is purely coincidental. My intention in writing it has been to empathize with the needs that, on both sides of the border, they have, we have, both.
