Vida contemplativa

Vida contemplativa

elogio de la inactividad

Han, Byung-Chul

We are losing our ability to do nothing. Our existence is completely absorbed by activity and therefore fully exploited. Since we only perceive life in terms of performance, we tend to understand inactivity as a deficit, a denial or a mere absence of activity when it is, quite the contrary, an interesting independent capacity. Byung-Chul Han investigates the benefits, the splendor and the magic of idleness and designs a new way of life, which includes contemplative moments, with which to face the current crisis of our society and stop our own exploitation and the destruction of the nature.
