Viaje a un mundo olvidado

In Journey to a Forgotten World, Jordi Esteva continues his memorial reflection begun in his previous book, The Nomad Impulse. If in this one the remembrance of childhood and youth and the awakening of the fascination with the different and the distant took precedence, in his new book he concentrates on what has led him to create his work as a photographer, filmmaker and writer based on mythical spaces of his personal geography: Ivory Coast, Sudan, Yemen, Zanzibar, Mombasa, the island of Socotra. Memories, thoughts and confessions come together to compose an elegy for people, places, beliefs and ways of life that are disappearing, swallowed up by the uniformity imposed by globalization. A hymn to centuries-old realities on the way to fading like a beautiful dream.
