Vencer al gran mal

un vida contra el cáncer

Germà Lluch, José Ramón

Not everyone has the opportunity to be a front-row witness to the great scientific advances such as those produced during the last half century in the fight against cancer. This is the case of Dr. José Ramón Germà Lluch. In Overcoming the great evil, Dr. Germà tells us about the struggle to combat that terrible evil whose power, despite its stubborn resistance, continues to diminish from year to year. In these memoirs, Dr. Germà tells us about the different milestones in his professional career, including the most remarkable discovery of his career: the cisplatin therapy that was applied at the Charing Cross Hospital in London for the treatment of germinal cancer of the testicle and ovary in very young patients. Upon his return, Dr. Germà implemented this therapy at the Sant Pau Hospital in Barcelona, which became the first hospital in Spain to achieve a cure rate for this type of cancer from 30% to 94%.
