"I am 94 years old. I have had an extraordinary life. It is only now that I appreciate the extraordinary. When I was young, I felt like I was in nature, experiencing the natural world intact, but it was an illusion. The tragedy of our time has been happening to around us, barely perceptible day by day: the loss of the wild places of our planet, its biodiversity. I have witnessed this decline. A life on our planet is my testimony and a vision for the future. It is the story of how we arrived to make this, our biggest mistake, and how, if we act now, we can still correct it. We have one last chance to create the perfect home for ourselves and restore the wonderful world we inherited. All we need is the will to do so".
