Una educación
Westover, Tara
Born in the Idaho mountains, Tara Westover has grown in harmony with a grandiose nature and bent on the laws set by her father, a fundamentalist Mormon convinced that the end of the world is imminent. Neither Tara nor her brothers go to school or go to the doctor when they get sick. They all work with the father, and her mother is a healer and the only midwife in the area.Tara has a talent: singing, and an obsession: knowing. She first sets foot in a classroom at seventeen: she does not know that there have been two world wars, but neither does the exact date of her birth (she has no documents). She soon discovers that education is the only way to flee her home. Despite starting from scratch, she has the strength to prepare for the university entrance exam, cross the ocean and graduate from Cambridge, although to do so she must break ties with her family.
