Una educació

The fifteen episodes of Una educació portray -in the form of a memoir- the concerns and carelessness of a young Catalan in London during the seventies. In his most personal book, Miquel Berga evokes, with irony and compassion, the adventures of a young man without resources who learns to live and survive in an environment and culture perceived as a kind refuge, away from misery and turmoil. which projected the agony of Francoism and the beginning of the transition. The set of situations and characters that pass through the book are the distillation of a sentimental education, but also a delicious recreation of the "English hours" of a Catalan who arrives in London as a stowaway on a plane, but with the conviction that, at that time, it was enough: "I was twenty years old and had two telephone numbers".
