Un señor elegante
Toro, Suso de
Suso de Toro began to write, initially, the history of a family with unusual features, which through generations accumulated books and protected figures of Galician culture and politics, such as Rosalía de Castro and her husband Manuel Murguía, or Castelao and Rafael Dieste. What was a family novel, through the people of the surgeon Ángel Baltar and his two sons Antonio and, particularly, Ramón, little by little is transformed into a chase in which the narrator is trapped, investigating that elusive prey fascinated . A clandestine Ramón Baltar in the dark. In "An elegant man", defined as a non-fiction novel, we find ourselves caught in this persecution through the genesis (or revelation?) Of the character and of a story, that of the ethics of resistance. A republican dream and a story of the European 20th century lived in Galicia and Spain; a very different vision, happy and resistant, of our past.
