Un planeta diferente, un mundo nuevo

A different planet is emerging before us. The climate changes: summers are longer and hotter and extreme events such as heat waves or torrential rains occur more frequently. Disasters that previously occurred once every several centuries now recur only a few years later. Climate change is a gigantic challenge, but it is not yet irreversible. If we act decisively, we have time to prevent the planet from becoming uninhabitable. But even if we do, we will live on a different planet, where we will be forced to change many of our ways and make some sacrifices. However, as animals whose life is conditioned by the circumstances of the environment, we have repeatedly demonstrated throughout history our ability to adapt to a new world. Climate change, the task of preserving a habitable planet for future generations, is the most important issue of our time. That is why it is necessary to face it without apriorisms: neither unscientific denial, nor apocalyptic imagery. This book chooses a middle way: to point out in all its starkness the challenges that await us, but not to overwhelm our spirits, but in order to face them.
