Robert Louis Stevenson liked to travel and tell stories, something he shares with Álvaro Machín, a journalist from Santander. "A million steps. Around the world of an ordinary guy" is just a compilation of itineraries and chronicles in the flesh. It is not a travel guide or the stories that the protagonist of "The Last Survivor" would write. It is the collection of anecdotes, characters and experiences over a few years of the path of an ordinary guy who carries in his suitcase, above all, curiosity. Stories of walking for something far from home. Uzbekistan, Cambodia, the roads of Benin, the Trans-Siberian railcars, a couple of swindlers in Tiananmen or the balcony of a restaurant in Torun (Poland). There are details of the destinations, the different companies, the reasons and the mood that surrounds each date in the stories of each chapter.
