Un linaje oscuro
Vílchez, Victoria
In 1692, a number of people were arrested and accused of practicing witchcraft in Salem. After the trials that took place, twenty-nine of them were sentenced and, finally, nineteen died by hanging. Although nobody knew that, in reality, those who brought about the accusations were white witches, and those sentenced to hang belonged to dark witches lineages. Until then, the covens of both sides had lived in balance. Very soon two schools would be created: Abbot, the academy to which the families of white witches sent their descendants to learn everything related to the magic of creation, and Ravenswood, the one in which the witches given over to darkness studied. Danielle Good is an exception. She is a white witch even though her ancestor, Sarah Good, was tried and convicted centuries ago. Although her stay at Abbot should last at least another year, until she is nineteen, she is tired of living shut up within her walls. Motherless and with a father who barely pays attention to her, she decides to run away from school accompanied by Dith, her relative, the only person who has always stayed by her side. But her escape attempt doesn't go as planned and Danielle ends up in the only place she should never have set foot: Ravenswood. In unknown and dangerous territory, Danielle will discover that dark sorcerers are not the only ones who keep secrets. That light sometimes also needs darkness, and that the balance that was once broken must be restored before it is too late for everyone.
