Un cadáver en el Congreso

del "Sí se puede" al no se quiere

Pascual Peña, Sergio

This is the story of the formative years of Podemos, of its first steps in public institutions and of the internal crisis that brought a project that seemed to have no ceiling to a halt. Among the group of young people who managed to storm the skies of politics, inspire a country with a new language and a renewed way of doing things, the old forms of conspiracy, secret meetings and, ultimately, of betrayal. Two opposing and irreconcilable factions emerged within it, one led by Pablo Iglesias, the other by Íñigo Errejón, whose fratricidal struggle weakened the party. Sergio Pascual, secretary of organization of Podemos during its most convulsive years, has taken almost a decade to decide to write this chronicle that reconstructs the evolution of Podemos from its origins until, in March 2016, Iglesias summoned him in his office in Congress of the Deputies to announce his dismissal. The end of a dream that turned into a nightmare, whose shadows, already from a distance, Pascual recalls to dissipate them and unravel the motivations and automatisms that made the seed of discord germinate.
