Un baile a medianoche

Lady Arabella Lydon, Belle, is spending a few days with her cousins, the Duke and Duchess of Ashbourne, when she bumps into John Blackwood, a veteran of the war against Napoleon who owns neighboring lands. Belle is used to impressing and seducing men with her beauty and also scaring them away with her strong and determined character. However, John brusquely refuses her from the start. Naturally, that only arouses the young woman's interest. The war has left John with physical wounds but also a deep wound in his spirit that Belle is determined to discover. The furtive dance in the moonlight can be the beginning of the remedy for a tormented spirit to finally open up to love.
