Último viajero de la nada
Delgado Aparaín, Mario
Uruguayan Mario Delgado Aparaín, one of the most established Latin American authors, brings us this story that begins almost three hundred years ago in an old tavern along the Cantabrian coast and ends on the banks of the Río de la Plata. It tells the adventure of the Basque Bernabé Alcorta who crossed the ocean and ended up in a convulsed Montevideo where he lived through the shocks of the English invasions and witnessed the triumph of the May Revolution. He had to choose between loyalty to the liberating leader or remaining faithful to his homeland and his king. The novel is also a family saga that listens to the voices of the dead with the complicity of an almost hundred-year-old grandmother and a grandson with the whims of a writer.
