Txalaparta

The present work proposes a critical investigation around the txalaparta, conceived as a musical practice. Starting from an exposition of information sources and their analysis, two main aspects are addressed. In the first place, its nature and definition, its denominations and relationships are analyzed, as well as the changes in meaning that it has undergone since records exist. A critical review of its history is subsequently carried out in three chapters, proposing significant changes with respect to current historiography. The annexes section provides documentation and constitutes an exhaustive inventory of the manifestations of the txalaparta in various formats (phonography, cultured music, filmography, intermediate shows).
