Turno de réplica
Porta, Emilio
Emilio Porta is a writer and something else on his resume... but that is unimportant. He has written in all genres and has published over 15 books, as a solo author, on all of them. From his first books of poems, Compás de Espera, in Spain, and Porlock, written during his stay as a Spanish teacher at the British schools of Tiverton and Crediton in the -for him unforgettable- county of Devonshire, passing through his novels, among those who have special affection for Destinations and Knights and El Amuleto, even his essay books, such as the last published in 2018, Contrapensamientos. Behind are many collaborations in literary magazines and some positions, all attempts to make Literature his main way of life. All of this culminates now with this book that brings together poems in the background - he does not conceive of existence in any other way, but as a transit of the individual in the midst of questions and attitudes - which he has called Turn of Reply because, as is said at the beginning of the book , the word is a way of inquiry and also of answer, of small answers before the Mystery of existence, through our main tool, language. Through it, the human being tries to answer and respond to the fundamental question of why and what we are here for. An arduous and difficult question for which neither science nor religions have an absolute answer. Although there is always a small light, an interior beacon in our soul. That light is the hope made with the effort of so many human beings who have lived, most of them anonymously, and have walked in the middle of the darkness struggling to find it.
