Todo bajo el sol
Penyas, Ana
In Everything Under the Sun, the author places us on the Levantine coast in the early sixties to tell us the story of a family that suffers the devastating consequences of mass tourism, the main engine of economic developmentalism in Franco's time. Over the decades, we see how the rise of neoliberalism truncates the hopes and projects of the members of this family, whose testimony tells us of a time when landscapes and their natural wealth were forever transformed. However, there is a place that resists: between the old quarter of the cities and the coastal towns -converted into vacation towns-, the vegetable garden stretches, the bulwark of a lifestyle threatened by the relentless advance of brick.
